Key Responsibilities

  • •Take end-to-end ownership of significant projects within database and processing systems, from design and architecture through deployment, monitoring, and measuring impact.
  • •Build robust distributed systems and reason about failure modes and behavior under load.
  • •Contribute to performant protocols and APIs, including the label-format API used directly by customers.
  • •Tackle complex, large-scale domains with simple solutions.
  • •Raise the bar through code reviews, pairing, and helping engineers improve their work.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years building large-scale backend infrastructure applications.
  • •Deep fluency in at least one high-level language; Python and TypeScript are used.
  • •Solid grounding in distributed systems concepts such as databases, replication, partitioning, queuing, and caching under load.
  • •Experience owning services in production and improving quality via code reviews, testing, rollouts, and monitoring.
  • •Experience with data migrations or re-architecture projects is a plus.
