Job Summary

Use data to help shape product strategy and improve user experience on Thumbtack’s Trust Safety/Payments or Partnerships product teams. Design and analyze A/B experiments, study user behavior and product flows, and build dashboards to track success metrics. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and data engineers to influence roadmaps and deliver resilient, growth-driving product experiences using strong statistical and SQL-driven analysis.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and analyze experiments for product feature development and lifecycle engagement campaigns, and collaborate on improving experimentation tooling.
•Conduct analysis into user behaviors, product flows, and business trends to identify opportunities and recommend next steps for roadmap influence.
•Build dashboards and track metrics to guide initiatives, investigate metric changes, and propose action plans.
•Collaborate with data engineers to build and improve data infrastructure.
•Develop domain knowledge of the team’s area (e.g., payment flow and trust/safety risks) and contribute to the company’s data culture through knowledge sharing.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Statistics, Math, Economics, Engineering, or other STEM fields.
•1+ years of experience in a highly analytical role, preferably in tech analytics or data science.
•Proficiency using SQL to analyze large data sets.
•Strong understanding of statistical concepts, including practical experience with A/B testing and causal inference.
•Ability to explain insights to non-technical audiences, with strong business acumen and analytical problem-solving.
