Job Summary

Shape water and wastewater infrastructure projects by leading process design and review across feasibility, outline, detail, and construction stages. Perform hydraulic assessments, capacity reviews, equipment design, and produce key deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, and safety documentation (LoPA, HAZOP/HAZID). Collaborate across disciplines, support bids, and mentor junior staff while delivering compliant designs on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake process design and review for wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects, including site surveys, hydraulic assessments, capacity reviews, and process equipment design.
•Develop and produce key design deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, headloss calculations, and pumping system analysis.
•Prepare and contribute safety and compliance documentation, including Hazardous Area Classification and Layer of Protection Analysis (LoPA), and participate in HAZOP/HAZID reviews.
•Engage across project stages (Feasibility through Construction Design) and ensure designs comply with national and international design standards.
•Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, communicate with clients, support bid/proposal preparation, delegate and mentor more junior staff.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience designing water and wastewater engineering deliverables, ideally including treatment schemes.
•BEng or MEng in a related engineering field with experience in water and wastewater treatment.
•Chartered (or near Chartered) member of a relevant professional institution.
•Proven experience working at a senior engineer level in a consultancy within the water sector.
•Experience managing projects, delegating tasks, and providing technical mentoring.
