Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, review, and deliver end-to-end technical implementation for the mortgage system rebuild, ensuring stable deployment and reliable production operations.
  • •Lead the engineering team with rigorous technical design reviews and code reviews, enforcing engineering standards and agile delivery.
  • •Define technical specifications for Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL design, and AWS IaC standards including CI/CD and DevOps workflows.
  • •Optimize availability, scalability, performance, resilience, and cost for AWS workloads; tune Spring Boot applications and PostgreSQL databases for production.
  • •Analyze mortgage business rules, refactor legacy systems, handle production incidents, and ensure compliance with Hong Kong banking security and regulatory requirements.

  • •8–15 years of solid software development and technical leadership experience delivering large-scale enterprise core systems aligned to HSBC GCB4 standards.
  • •Expert-level Java and Spring Boot ecosystem experience building enterprise-grade backend applications.
  • •Hands-on PostgreSQL database design, development, performance tuning, indexing, and production operations.
  • •Experience deploying and operating Java and PostgreSQL workloads on AWS, including core AWS services plus cloud networking, IAM, and cloud security controls.
  • •Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and monitoring/logging/alerting for production systems and knowledge of financial/banking-grade security requirements.
