Job Summary

Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures in GMG retail store settings. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and plywood; install doors, windows, floors, and cabinetry; and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to meet specifications. Perform maintenance to ensure stability and safety, use hand and power tools correctly, and keep the work area clean while managing waste. Follow all QHSE requirements and report hazards or incidents to the line manager.

Key Responsibilities

•Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials to build or repair structures and furniture.
•Install doors, windows, floors, and cabinetry with precision and attention to detail.
•Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to determine project specifications.
•Carry out repairs and maintenance of wooden structures to ensure stability and safety.
•Use hand and power tools safely while maintaining QHSE compliance and reporting hazards or incidents to the line manager.

Key Requirements

•Up to 2 years of relevant UAE carpentry experience.
•Experience using hand tools (e.g., hammers, saws, measuring tools) and power tools (e.g., drills, sanders).
•Ability to read simple drawings and plans to complete carpentry work correctly.
•Knowledge of different types of wood and building materials.
•Experience in carpentry work such as wooden framing, doors, cabinets, and finishing work; retail store carpentry preferred.
