Job Summary

Assist Herd Technicians with routine animal care and general farm tasks to support animal welfare and production goals. Feed, water, vaccinate, perform basic veterinary procedures, and help with animal movement and processing of piglets. Maintain sanitation using high-pressure equipment, follow SOPs and animal welfare policies, keep production records, and support facility and equipment maintenance. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and biosecurity requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist other Herd Technicians with routine animal care and general farm tasks to ensure animal welfare.
•Feed, water, vaccinate, and perform general animal husbandry tasks including basic veterinary procedures.
•Help move animals and maintain efficient animal flows; process piglets including injecting medications and specific procedures.
•Sanitize and wash multiple farm areas using high-pressure equipment; maintain barn, office cleanliness, and laundry duties.
•Maintain accurate production information and update department records; treat sick animals with pharmaceuticals and follow SOPs/animal welfare and compliance policies.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 16 hourly

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•Previous livestock handling helpful.
•Ability to do hard physical labor and work in demanding farm conditions.
•Strong commitment to teamwork and ability to follow instructions in standardized situations.
•Must be able to work an average 48-hour work week; weekend, evening, and holiday work required; on-call for emergencies.
