Job Summary

Prepare quantity estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and proposals, and develop both preliminary and detailed cost estimates. Support bidding by assembling bid packages and analyzing subcontractor bids while maintaining up-to-date supplier pricing. After projects are awarded, manage schedules, resource allocation, cost projections, and billing, including daily cost sheet reviews and project startup coordination.

Key Responsibilities

•Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare time, material, equipment, production, and labor estimates.
•Prepare preliminary and detailed estimates and consult with clients and vendors to resolve estimating issues.
•Maintain current pricing information from suppliers and contractors and prepare bid packages and analysis of subcontractor bids.
•Manage awarded projects including scheduling, resource allocation, cost projections, and billing, and review daily cost sheets for accuracy and compliance.
•Coordinate project startup with the job foreman and support estimating through feedback on job progress and field measurements.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
•Five or more years of construction estimating experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
•Experience with estimating software, B2W, and spreadsheets.
•Experience with Takeoff software and proficiency with estimating and bidding software.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
