Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as principal technical authority for end-to-end architectural design, validation, and commercial deployment of 5G SA/NSA core and cloud-native network functions.
  • •Lead solution architecture and integration of 5G Core (Converged Packet Core), including CUPS architectures for major Japanese carriers.
  • •Architect user-plane functions (UPF) and service-based architecture control planes on container platforms such as Kubernetes and Telco Cloud environments.
  • •Define end-to-end call flows, session management, policy control, charging, subscriber data management, and network slicing aligned to 3GPP Release 15/16/17.
  • •Lead PDI delivery and cutover governance: lab staging, PoC benchmarks, migration strategies, operational runbooks, and real-time risk decisions during maintenance windows.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years hands-on experience designing/engineering/delivering service provider mobile packet core networks (4G LTE EPC, 5G NSA/SA Core).
  • •Deep mastery of 3GPP mobile core protocols and interfaces including 5G SBA (HTTP/2, REST APIs, JSON), PFCP (N4/Sx), GTP-C/GTP-U, Diameter, RADIUS, and BGP/MPLS routing.
  • •Proven experience architecting or deploying core network functions including UPF, SMF, AMF, NRF, PCF, MME, SGW, PGW, and ePDG/N3IWF.
  • •Hands-on experience with Telco Cloud and virtualization platforms hosting VNFs/CNFs such as Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, KVM, SR-IOV, and DPDK/CNDP.
  • •Experience leading mission-critical cutovers, major software migrations, and performance benchmarking; business-level fluency in Japanese and professional working proficiency in English.
