Job Summary

Provide specialized, performance-focused nutrition care to optimize the health, recovery, and operational readiness of personnel. Serve as a direct-access provider for nutrition assessment and counseling, deliver individual and group education, and develop evidence-based nutrition protocols for performance and rehabilitation/return-to-duty. Advise leadership and command on nutrition matters, support dining/galley nutrition coordination, and consult within the POTFF program, including sports foods and supplements.

•Provide direct access nutrition care by evaluating and counseling personnel without referral.
•Deliver individualized nutrition assessments and interventions, including screening and documentation guided by evidence-based literature.
•Develop nutrition protocols to optimize performance/readiness and create protocols for rehabilitation and return to duty.
•Provide small and large group performance nutrition education.
•Advise and consult with chain of command and leadership on nutrition, including dining facility/galley nutrition and guidance within the POTFF program.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science (Master of Science preferred), or related field, with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD).
•Minimum of 3+ years of demonstrable experience as a Sport and/or Performance Dietitian with athletes and groups (e.g., NCAA Division I, Olympic, professional sports, USAF CRAFT/SWTW, or SOF Operators).
•Possess specialty certification as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), with potential deferment and an earning timeline.
•Master’s degree may be replaced with 5+ years of paid, full-time Sport/Performance Dietitian experience with individual and group athletes.
•Secret or Top-Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain clearance.
