Key Responsibilities

•Lead Data Platform as a Service solution design and reviews, managing trade-offs across resilience, performance, cost, and time-to-market.
•Drive engineering excellence via CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, and release governance.
•Guide engineers/teams through complexity and raise engineering standards through day-to-day actions (hands-on leadership).
•Define reference architectures and reusable patterns for ingestion, transformation, and serving on cloud-native technology stacks using open-source stacks.
•Own modern delivery and operations end-to-end, applying continuous delivery/DevOps practices and operational metrics (e.g., DORA), with a focus on embedding AI into data and engineering workflows.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of experience in relevant technologies and deep expertise implementing Data Platform services.
•Strong data technology delivery experience and ability to articulate key Data & AI technology trends and related regulatory expectations (e.g., data privacy/localization) in HSBC context.
•Data Engineering experience using Python plus tools such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Hadoop, NiFi/Kafka, and RDBMS with open-source stacks and Cloud SQL.
•Expertise in cloud-native technologies and tooling including Git, Jenkins, Airflow, Pub/Sub/Kafka, and CI/CD.
•Practical experience with agentic engineering and LLM services, including deploying/consuming endpoints, plus IT automation and DevSecOps practices.
