Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide general labor supporting contract shavings crew and observing contract catch crew while following animal welfare guidelines.
  • •Vaccinate birds at placement and at multiple ages (including performing specified daily vaccination counts).
  • •Perform lab sampling on chick boxes and other routine sampling activities.
  • •Load modules onto trucks with a forklift and move birds from pullet to hen farms as part of production.
  • •Clean and disinfect modules, vehicles, and equipment and follow a weekly schedule to distribute insecticides/pesticides.

Key Requirements

  • •Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months if laid off or providing child/elder care).
  • •Must be approved to drive a company vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
  • •Must be able to read and write to follow weekly schedules for distributing insecticides/pesticides.
  • •Must be willing to sign and abide by company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare guidelines, including avoiding avian species.
  • •Must be willing and able to meet physical demands, including safe lifting techniques, standing most of the shift, and obtaining forklift certification.
