Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and on time over required routes while obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Manoeuvre truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas, following loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading and unloading goods using specialized equipment as warranted, and arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimized loading.
  • •Maintain delivery paperwork (invoices, shipping bills of lading) and perform routine service checks, reporting maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold either a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license depending on state and vehicle weight.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing per federal/state DOT regulations, and complete a DOT physical (trucks over 10k lbs).
  • •Must be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with professional, courteous communication with customers and staff.
  • •Ability to safely perform physical demands, including lifting/moving up to 40 pounds and spending prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab.
