Job Summary

Lead Visa’s Open Banking engineering team in Bangalore and drive the strategic vision for delivering scalable, high-quality open banking solutions globally. Manage 1–2 engineering teams (8–15 people), own delivery and engineering excellence, and collaborate with product and tech partners across distributed teams. Take hands-on ownership of AI-first engineering practices, integrating Generative AI tools and models into development workflows for design, coding, testing, deployment, and continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage a team of 8–15 experienced professionals, including hiring, retention, growth, and career development.
•Drive strategic and technical leadership for Open Banking solutions, partnering with product managers and working with architects and senior engineers on technical design and delivery.
•Provide hands-on technical leadership through design reviews and code reviews, maintaining involvement in coding, architecture reviews, and critical problem-solving.
•Lead AI-first engineering practices by using Generative AI agents for design, code reviews, documentation, and problem-solving; establish best practices for prompt engineering and AI tooling orchestration.
•Ensure operational excellence by overseeing development of scalable, high-performance APIs and high-load systems, including continual service improvements and enhancement/bug-fix delivery.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) and 12–16 years of relevant experience, with 2+ years in engineering management roles; or a Master’s degree with 10–16 years and 2+ years in engineering management roles.
•Several years of hands-on backend engineering experience before moving into leadership.
•Expertise with the Java platform (Java 8 or higher) and experience with Spring, Vert.x, Node.js, or similar frameworks.
•Experience building microservices using HTTP, REST, JSON, and XML.
•Hands-on experience integrating Generative AI architectures (e.g., transformers, LLM ensembles, multimodal pipelines, GANs, VAEs) into engineering workflows, including prompt engineering and AI tooling orchestration.
