Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare and ensure astronomy equipment, observatories, and operational assets are ready for each guest experience.
  • •Operate and support manual and computerized telescopes, binoculars, and optical instruments, including telescope viewing sessions and astrophotography experiences.
  • •Conduct guest safety briefings and guide guests during astronomy activities while ensuring safety and enjoyment.
  • •Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance (and support deep maintenance) of telescope and optical equipment, including software updates and database accuracy.
  • •Maintain inventory records and maintenance documentation, coordinate equipment logistics and vendor coordination, and support setup and delivery of astronomy festivals and educational programmes.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy, Physics, Tourism, Hospitality, Business Management, Environmental Studies, or related field.
  • •Minimum two (2) years of experience in tourism, hospitality, adventure tourism, or guest experience operations.
  • •Minimum two (2) years of practical experience operating astronomy and optical equipment, including large-aperture systems.
  • •Experience delivering astronomy-related experiences, including routine and advanced telescope/optical maintenance, alignment, and calibration.
  • •Wilderness First Aid (or internationally recognized First Aid) certification and demonstrated experience with astrophotography techniques and equipment.
