Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical assistance and guidance across due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of utility/industrial/commercial projects.
  • •Develop and review substation design deliverables including single-line/three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layout and bus arrangement, grounding grid and lightning protection, and documentation for construction specifications.
  • •Perform engineering calculations for loads, equipment sizing, grounding touch/step potentials, short-circuit studies, protective device coordination, protective relaying, and switchyard layouts.
  • •Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates, including construction safety and phasing plans and electrical infrastructure layout updates with coordination across disciplines and clients.
  • •Support regulatory-facing communication, including preparing technical reports/presentations and assisting with field investigations, testing/commissioning support (as needed), and guidance/training for entry-level engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • •5 to 7 years post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for large capital projects, including electric utility transmission and distribution substations and/or protection & control (P&C).
  • •Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • •Experience producing and/or reviewing substation deliverables such as general arrangement drawings, substation layouts, one-line/three-line diagrams, grounding and lightning protection, wiring diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, cable schedules, and bill of materials.
  • •Proficient knowledge of electrical engineering principles and process, including permitting and project-work-related issues, plus ability to make technical computations and calculations.
