Job Summary

Lead business case development and management for major Defence, Nuclear, Infrastructure and Construction programmes, generating auditable cases aligned to HM Treasury “Green Book” five-case model principles. Work with clients and project delivery teams to facilitate workshops, manage business and financial process inputs, monitor risk treatments, and present recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership through approval and beyond. Based in the Defence North team with regular UK travel and hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

•Facilitate teams and workshops with project and programme teams, ensuring business case information is captured in a structured, consistent and auditable manner.
•Develop and maintain strategies, plans and processes to generate successful business cases.
•Monitor the effectiveness of risk treatments and recommend continuous improvement throughout the business case lifecycle prior to submission.
•Maintain accurate business case portfolios using recognised methodologies and management software, and produce tailored management information for stakeholders.
•Build working relationships across clients and programme/project teams, support five-case model best-practice embedding, and present outputs and recommendations to clients and senior leadership.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Experience working within project or programme environments in the Defence, Nuclear, Infrastructure or Construction sectors.
•Strong understanding of the “Green Book” approvals and the five-case model, preferably within MOD and wider HM Treasury organisations.
•Strong understanding of interfaces between Business Case Generation, Planning, Cost Management and Change Management disciplines.
•Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, facilitation and reporting skills.
•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary project controls teams.
