Job Summary

Build and maintain Crusoe’s workforce intelligence technical stack, turning HR system data into analytics-ready models and AI-powered applications. Own data engineering in dbt (BigQuery) and event-grain pipelines, develop agentic systems that automate high-friction HR workflows, and partner with central IT to productionize and scale solutions. Translate complex, multi-source workforce insights into executive narratives that drive real leadership decisions.

Job Function: Software Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Contribute to and grow ownership of the workforce intelligence data engineering stack, including dbt models in BigQuery and event-grain models capturing workforce changes.
•Design and deploy agentic systems that automate high-friction HR workflows and surface actionable workforce intelligence.
•Act as a technical liaison with central IT to triage backlog, determine build vs scope vs vendor solutions, and productionize scaled systems.
•Scope and build custom internal tooling where commercial HR products fall short, from rapid prototypes to production-quality replacements.
•Build workforce intelligence data products for leadership (headcount, attrition, performance, compensation equity, org health) and translate complex analyses into executive narratives.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 145,000 - 175,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Work experience alongside HR systems (HRIS/ATS) and familiarity with how HR processes translate into data.
•Hands-on production SQL and experience with dbt or a similar transformation/modeling framework (grain, lineage, schema design).
•Software engineering experience running in production (pipelines, API integrations, scheduled jobs, or lightweight applications).
•Exposure to LLM/agent development, including understanding of RAG, tool-calling, or multi-step agent frameworks (a strong plus).
•Ability to communicate technical analyses to non-technical stakeholders and translate findings into leadership-ready narratives.
