Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage mine ventilation systems for safe, compliant, and efficient underground operations, including leading a ventilation team of 20.
  • •Develop and review ventilation management plans, deliver LOM ventilation Ventsim models, and perform ventilation assessments aligned to long-term and short-term mining schedules.
  • •Design and optimize ventilation infrastructure (fans, ducts, monitoring systems), run optimization studies, and implement IoT-based real-time monitoring solutions.
  • •Integrate occupational hygiene and environmental compliance into ventilation planning, including sampling, risk assessments, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • •Implement safety and emergency preparedness activities (group risk management, hazard management, assurance verifications, refuge chamber and vent door support) and drive performance monitoring, continuous improvement, and digital transformation.

Key Requirements

  • •Undergraduate or higher education, plus formal and recognized mine ventilation qualifications.
  • •Minimum 15 years of underground mine ventilation experience.
  • •Proven experience in ventilation planning and system design in complex underground environments.
  • •Advanced capability using Ventsim (including VentFIRE) to simulate airflow, fire scenarios, and thermodynamic conditions.
  • •Proficiency with Deswik for ventilation planning, scheduling, and infrastructure design, plus experience with risk assessments and emergency planning for ventilation-related hazards.
