Key Responsibilities

•Feed, water, and weigh birds according to schedules.
•Clean and disinfect waterers and nesting areas; maintain the egg room in a clean state and perform routine housekeeping duties.
•Perform recordkeeping tasks using simple math (e.g., egg numbers, hen number on egg, bird weight, medications, feed intake, mortality).
•Observe/grade/record egg quality and distribute or dispose of eggs according to Cobb standards; collect eggs from trap nests and release hens from nests.
•Inspect poultry for diseases and remove weak, ill, and dead poultry; monitor feed, water, illumination, and ventilation; properly euthanize weak/ill birds per company policy.

Key Requirements

•Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no job gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months gap allowed if laid off or providing child/elder care).
•Previous work history does not apply if full-time student consecutively for the last 36 months.
•Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species and to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
•Must be willing and able to meet physical requirements (e.g., safe lifting, stooping/bending to floor level, standing/walking for the majority of the shift).
•Use safe lifting techniques and follow required safety policies and procedures (including PPE and Hazard Communication).
