Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver comprehensive genetic counseling to pediatric and adult patients referred for genetic/genomic evaluation, including interpreting histories and assessing inherited disease risk.
  • •Support newborn genome screening by providing pre- and post-test counseling and coordinating referrals to appropriate specialties when indicated.
  • •Provide clinical genomics support for suspected genetic/neurological/metabolic/cardiovascular/multisystem disorders, collaborating with clinical geneticists and specialists.
  • •Offer hereditary cancer genetics counseling and support oncology teams with pre- and post-test counseling, cascade testing, and family screening.
  • •Coordinate genetic testing pathways and manage results through referral to disclosure, ensuring accurate documentation, consent, and record-keeping; contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and service development.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s Degree in Genetic Counselling, Genomic Counselling, Medical Genetics, Human Genetics, Genomics, or a closely related field from a recognized institute.
  • •DHA License.
  • •Minimum 2 years of experience in genetic counseling, genomic medicine, clinical genetics, or a related healthcare setting.
  • •Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills would be advantageous.
  • •Certification/registration with a recognized professional genetic counseling body (e.g., ABGC, HCPC, GCRB, HGSA, CAGC, or equivalent) is desirable.
