Job Summary

Lead transportation planning strategy and execution for major projects in the Seattle area, providing direction, expertise, and SME innovation across planning deliverables. Oversee use and quality of transportation and traffic data, guide complex project budgets and teams, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for siting, impact assessment, approvals, and permitting. Drive growth through pursuits, client development, and proposal scope, pricing, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide proactive, strategic leadership for the planning discipline to ensure project and work site deliverables meet business objectives and quality standards.
•Oversee transportation and traffic data quality and use to assess modal operations and effects across vehicles, transit, non-motorized, micromobility, and transport systems.
•Lead larger, complex transportation planning projects, including directing contributors, managing budgets, tracking hours/quality/expenses, and supervising subcontractors and staff.
•Manage multi-disciplinary project teams across execution and delivery phases for siting, impact assessment, approval, and permitting.
•Support transportation planning growth by participating in pursuits, developing pursuit strategies, leading technical contract negotiations and presentations, and developing proposal scopes, timelines, pricing, and budget metrics.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience).
•12+ years of transportation planning experience in a corporate environment working on plans, zoning updates, public involvement, and regulatory compliance across client projects.
•Strong knowledge of approval zoning laws, permitting requirements, notification and compliance practices, and applicable regional/state/federal regulatory frameworks.
•Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
•Advanced proficiency with office automation and communication software/tools used in a corporate environment.
