Job Summary

Experienced Principal Planning Consultant sought to join AECOM’s Island of Ireland Environment team. Lead planning consents for major infrastructure (energy/transport/rail), provide expert planning advice, oversee due diligence and pre-application discussions, coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs, and drive commercially competitive tender proposals within a flexible hybrid working model across Dublin, Cork and Galway.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and manage planning applications, coordinating technical and environmental inputs and liaising with key stakeholders.
•Undertake due diligence, site reviews and pre-application discussions for major proposals to achieve deliverable outcomes.
•Provide technical planning advice to ensure documentation meets regulatory standards and current legislation, policy and case law.
•Lead and support commercially competitive tender proposals and bids.
•Collaborate with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality planning outcomes across the Island of Ireland.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience leading planning consents for major infrastructure projects (energy, transport or rail).
•Excellent knowledge and application of current planning legislation.
•Full current driving license and access to transport.
•Corporate member of the Irish Planning Institute, Chartered Member of the RTPI or equivalent.
•Ability to prioritise workload, work flexibly, and lead multi-disciplinary teams; strong report writing and presentation skills.
