Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead end-to-end delivery of UK highway design projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • •Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex design challenges and drive innovation in design approaches and methodologies.
  • •Manage multiple projects simultaneously with efficient resource allocation and delivery outcomes.
  • •Ensure compliance with QA, CDM, Sustainability, and HSE standards; proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and technical issues.
  • •Lead and manage a team of up to 15 engineers and designers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision while supporting early career development.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 5+ years of experience in UK highway design, including road geometry, pavement design, road restraint systems, signage and road markings, and site clearance.
  • •Strong proficiency in design tools including Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MX, PDS/Keyline, AutoCAD, and ProjectWise.
  • •Proven experience leading teams and managing stakeholders, plus project and resource management.
  • •Ability to deliver projects within budget and programme constraints and produce technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
  • •Strong understanding of UK design standards and emerging industry trends; excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
