Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise and lead assigned shift DE technicians for repair and process control of CHT/HPVD submodule tools to meet safety, quality, yield, and throughput goals.
  • •Serve as first-level escalation for HPVD/submodule tool process and repair troubleshooting; supervise on-site service and repairs.
  • •Plan and supervise daily work scheduling for development engineering technicians, ensuring wetline PMs, target changes, and shift tests are executed as planned.
  • •Support yield excursions and performance issues by identifying causes and implementing improvement actions; ensure team responds to SPC alarms to bring processes back into control.
  • •Oversee maintenance system compliance (e.g., closing work orders, job plan audits, handheld scanner compliance, and tool status), and coordinate startups, shutdowns, and changeovers within the area.

Salary: USD 68,800 - 98,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED plus 3 years supervisory experience with 2 years technical work experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering; or 5 years technical experience at First Solar; or an associate/bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical/electrical) with no experience.
  • •Experience in vacuum systems and thermal/laser systems, plus electrical and mechanical applications in industrial settings.
  • •Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues, including safety issue identification and corrective actions.
  • •Experience leading a crew of 3-5 people and being the person of contact for tool issues.
  • •Knowledge of process/equipment troubleshooting and structural problem-solving tools (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone, 7-Steps) and statistical/process control methods (SPC, DMAIC).
