Job Summary

Extend credit for commercial loan applicants in line with the bank’s loan policy, ensuring credit decisions and documentation meet regulatory and internal requirements. Interview applicants, evaluate credit and financial history, review collateral, and authorize or recommend approval/denial within established limits. Manage and monitor a loan portfolio, maintain current credit files, prepare loan offering memoranda, close/decline loans, and support collections, reserve recommendations, and risk rating updates.

Key Responsibilities

•Interview commercial loan applicants and make credit decisions.
•Examine and evaluate applicants’ credit and financial history and review collateral adequacy (if applicable).
•Authorize or recommend approval/denial and approve loans within specified limits or refer to the appropriate approval level.
•Prepare loan offering memoranda and ensure all loan documents are complete, accurate, and aligned with policy; close or decline loans timely.
•Monitor the loan portfolio/performance and manage collections for past-due loans while maintaining credit files and collateral security documentation.

Key Requirements

•Equivalent to a four-year college degree with 5 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•5 years lending experience and 5 years experience with banking, investment, or economic analysis.
•2 years experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, plus general computer skills.
•Ability to communicate effectively and write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.
•Ability to evaluate credit and financial history and apply critical thinking to practical problems with limited standardization.
