Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan, schedule, monitor, dispatch, and control work resources for gas system operations, construction, maintenance, and repair.
  • •Supervise technical crews’ daily activities and ensure compliance with Operator Qualification and Codes & Standards requirements.
  • •Coordinate construction and maintenance activities with other areas to support continuous improvement.
  • •Apply Lean Six Sigma elements or other continuous improvement tools to execute and follow through on operational improvements.
  • •Perform core supervisory/management functions including planning, organizing, directing, staffing (selection, training/coaching, performance management), coordinating, reporting, and budgeting.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of Operations experience, or an Associate’s Degree with 4 years, or a Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years in Operations.
  • •Operations experience in Natural Gas or the Utility industry.
  • •Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify key issues and recommend optimal solutions.
  • •Preferred: experience working with the general public to address and solve issues.
  • •Knowledge of the Michigan Gas Safety Code and ability to lead and coach in a unionized environment.
