Job Summary

Lead independent operational risk oversight across the Finance function as part of the Non-Financial Risk team. Partner with the CFO and Finance Leadership to provide risk insight, ensure adherence to risk appetite, and strengthen the control environment over financial reporting (ICFR/SOX). Oversee identification and remediation of control weaknesses, assess governance and risk in finance transformation programmes, and deliver clear risk reporting to senior leadership and board committees while leading a risk team.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead independent operational risk oversight across the Finance function to ensure material risks are identified, understood, and managed effectively.
•Act as the key Non-Financial Risk contact for the CFO and Finance Leadership Team, providing risk insight and guidance.
•Provide oversight of Finance’s risk profile, including adherence to risk appetite and management of current and emerging risks.
•Support a strong control environment through oversight of ICFR/SOX and review escalation and remediation of control weaknesses with Finance, Internal Audit, and external auditors.
•Oversee risk input on major Finance transformation programmes and deliver clear risk reporting to senior leadership, Executive Committees, and Board Risk Committees.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 135,000 - 147,400 annually

Key Requirements

•Significant experience in operational risk, finance risk, controls oversight, audit, assurance, or risk management within financial services.
•Strong knowledge of ICFR/SOX controls, financial reporting, actuarial processes, and treasury operations.
•Experience working in a Three Lines of Defence model to provide independent oversight and risk insight.
•Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with senior leaders and Board-level audiences.
•A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA, or equivalent.
