Job Summary

Operate, control, and monitor power generation equipment at the Harold E. Holt Defence Precinct in Exmouth, ensuring uninterrupted generation and distribution of power. Perform routine log checks and inspections, safely start/stop and configure equipment for dynamic load demands, and carry out level 1 and 2 maintenance on diesel engines and related systems. Work a rotating day/night roster and support training for new shift operators.

Key Responsibilities

•Control, monitor, maintain, and operate associated power generation equipment/plant to ensure uninterrupted power generation and distribution.
•Safely start and stop equipment and bring systems on-line/off-line, configuring the power system to meet dynamic load demands.
•Perform routine log checks and inspections on equipment.
•Carry out level 1 and level 2 maintenance on diesel engines and associated equipment.
•Interpret schematic drawings for fluid configuration changes and fault finding, including equipment isolation and shift-operator training support.

Key Requirements

•Certificate III in Electrotechnology – Electrician with a minimum of 4 years of experience OR Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Machinist, or equivalent).
•Demonstrated experience maintaining rotating equipment and power generation in mining, heavy industry, oil & gas, or similar industrial environments.
•Current “C” Class Manual Driver’s Licence and eligibility to obtain/maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance.
•High school, secondary school or equivalent education.
•Construction White Card, Working at Heights training, and CPR/LVR (within valid timeframe).
