Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver and coordinate design packages on complex roads, public transport, and greenways infrastructure programmes from concept through construction.
  • •Lead technical design teams and ensure major projects meet relevant standards (e.g., DMRB UK & Ireland, LTN 1/24, NTA standards, Cycling by Design/TII DMRB).
  • •Produce high-quality client deliverables within quality, time, and budget constraints.
  • •Coordinate and challenge multidisciplinary inputs (e.g., drainage, structures, environmental) and work with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders through technical challenges and statutory approvals.
  • •Mentor junior engineers and apprentices, and support work-winning via quality and commercial input.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering (or similar).
  • •Chartered Engineer preferred; strong progression toward chartership considered.
  • •Significant post-graduate experience in relevant areas such as civil engineering, highways, rail/light rail, public transport, or greenways/active travel.
  • •Solid understanding and experience using UK and Ireland design standards (e.g., TII PMG/PMM, DMRB, DMURS, LTN 1/20, LTN 1/24, NTA Cycle Design Manual).
  • •Experience preparing contract documentation for major transport projects (e.g., NEC/Public Works Contract) and supporting environmental impact assessments and statutory approvals.
