Key Responsibilities

•Design, deploy, and maintain Akamai's massive-scale backbone network to maximize uptime and optimize traffic engineering.
•Manage large-scale exterior BGP routing architectures, peering relationships, and transit provider configurations for fast data delivery.
•Provision backbone capacity, PNIs, and routers while executing major infrastructure project implementations.
•Write, test, and deploy network configuration changes using Akamai's automation framework across lab and production environments.
•Collaborate with network architecture, automation, infrastructure, and NOC teams to maintain high network availability and reliability.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of relevant experience with a background in Computer Science or equivalent practical expertise in the field.
•Practical expertise in BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, Traffic Engineering, and RSVP within a large service provider environment.
•Scale Architecture: proven experience in IP network design and routing architecture at scale within ISPs, content providers, or CDNs.
•Demonstrate exceptional communication abilities to foster trust and collaborate within a diverse, cross-functional international team.
•Demonstrate expertise in service provider network methodologies (e.g., JNCIP-SP certification or equivalent knowledge).
