Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the full technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Monnify payment gateway across all capability areas.
  • •Lead multiple engineering teams through engineering managers by setting quality standards and building organisational capability.
  • •Own end-to-end developer experience, including APIs, documentation, SDKs, and integration ease.
  • •Drive platform evolution toward multi-currency and international scalability while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security in a regulated environment.
  • •Partner with product, commercial, and operations teams to align technical investments with business goals and hire, mentor, and develop engineering managers and senior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in engineering leadership roles.
  • •5+ years of hands-on, production-level Java experience writing and shipping Java code.
  • •At least 5 years of experience managing managers and leading an engineering organisation through other engineering leaders.
  • •Experience in payments/fintech/financial services with a working understanding of payment flows and compliance.
  • •Deep knowledge of API-first products, developer platforms, and API integration, with strong backend skills for high-throughput distributed transactional systems.
