Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement control strategies for robotic and automated systems in paint booths, sealer areas, and utilities, including PLC logic development and optimization.
  • •Develop and refine robot paths and paint parameters for ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, and Dürr paint robots, ensuring alarms, diagnostics, and real-time data via HMI/SCADA interfaces.
  • •Lead commissioning for new installations, upgrades, and expansions, supporting FAT/SAT, I/O validation, safety interlock testing, and functional verification.
  • •Integrate automation systems with MES, QMS, SCADA, and traceability platforms, including vision system support for defect detection and robotic path correction.
  • •Monitor and optimize KPIs (e.g., FTQ, uptime, overspray, paint usage, rework rates), implement predictive maintenance strategies, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance while maintaining documentation and training.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automation Engineering (master’s or equivalent robotic automation certifications preferred).
  • •6–8 years of hands-on experience with industrial robots in an automotive paint shop or OEM/Tier 1 environment.
  • •Proven track record commissioning and sustaining high-throughput paint automation systems.
  • •Direct experience with major automation platforms including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, and Dürr.
  • •Electrical safety certifications (NFPA 70E, OSHA) preferred.
