Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical delivery (and, where appropriate, leadership) for flood forecast modelling and hydrology studies, including developing routing and hydrodynamic models and preparing hydrology boundaries (PDM).
  • •Undertake Quality Assurance and independent technical reviews of existing flood forecasting reports and products.
  • •Supervise and produce high-quality client- and public-facing deliverables, including visualization and interpretation of complex data.
  • •Work with the wider fluvial and pluvial modelling leadership team to further develop the flood forecasting service offering.
  • •Support (and where appropriate lead) bid proposals and provide project, commercial and financial management, including client and stakeholder liaison.

Key Requirements

  • •Excellent understanding of UK flood forecasting techniques, rating reviews, Flood Modeller, PDM, and performance testing, including real-time model development and testing experience.
  • •Proven track record of undertaking reviews and calculations to satisfy UK statutory bodies (EA, SEPA, NRW or DfI).
  • •Strong commercial awareness with experience identifying and developing business opportunities and preparing winning proposals.
  • •A sound understanding of client needs, with a track record of leading and winning work.
  • •Chartership with a relevant professional body (or commitment to work towards within an agreed period).
