Job Summary

Lead indirect tax work to support TikTok’s international digital and e-commerce expansion. You’ll oversee taxability determinations for product launches, manage and support multi-state tax audits and controversies, and help drive audit readiness. Partner across Tax and Technology teams to design scalable processes, monitor legislative changes affecting indirect tax, document tax positions, and improve operational controls, automation, efficiency, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead taxability determination for new product and feature launches, including detailed indirect tax analysis and business advisory.
•Collaborate with Tax and Technology teams across regions to create and implement globally scalable tax processes and solutions.
•Monitor and communicate indirect tax legislative and regulatory changes, assessing business and product impacts.
•Review and document tax positions for existing products and services to ensure accuracy and mitigate risk.
•Lead/support complex multi-state tax audits and audit readiness programs, including tax operational process improvements focused on controls, automation, efficiency, and analytics.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or higher in Taxation, Accounting, or a related field.
•At least 5 years of indirect state and local tax experience focused on sales/use taxes.
•Strong technical knowledge of U.S. indirect tax, especially sales and use tax.
•Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
•Experience working with Tax and Technology teams to create globally scalable processes and solutions.
