Key Responsibilities

•Provide engineering expertise across VA cloud and data infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, virtualized compute, storage, and secure networking.
•Support application and middleware stacks such as VHA clinical systems, VA.gov services, and interoperability frameworks including FHIR and HL7.
•Perform troubleshooting, break/fix analysis, incident resolution, and sustainment operations to ensure system reliability.
•Assess and modernize aging systems while maintaining day-to-day operations and streamline delivery across healthcare, research, and technology-transfer workflows.
•Integrate AI/ML, automation, and advanced analytics into VA systems; evaluate COTS tools and address interoperability, security, compliance, and performance challenges.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 175,000 - 180,000 annually

Key Requirements

•15+ years of experience in solution engineering, systems engineering, or enterprise IT roles.
•Bachelor’s degree with comparable years of experience.
•Demonstrated experience supporting VA, VHA, VBA, or other federal Health IT programs.
•Expertise across VA technology stacks, including cloud/data infrastructure, application/middleware stacks, and interoperability frameworks (FHIR/HL7).
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
