Lead the commercialization of On's footwear innovations, driving complex projects from concept to production with autonomy. This role combines advanced design, manufacturing process knowledge, root-cause problem solving, and cross-functional influence to translate visionary concepts into scalable, high-performance products. You will partner with manufacturing regions and vendors, mentor teammates, and ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and top quality.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead multiple high-impact footwear development projects from confirmation to production, defining methods and procedures and potentially supervising other team members.
•Spearhead the end-to-end commercialization process, leveraging knowledge of manufacturing processes, fit, material properties, mold and process manufacturing, and root-cause analysis to troubleshoot tooling, molding, assembly, fit, and wear issues.
•Act as a central hub for On’s manufacturing regions, liaising with inline development and production teams and coordinating with strategic vendors to ensure product intent while meeting commercial and operational requirements.
•Influence and negotiate with diverse internal teams and external T1/T2 partners and sourcing teams across regions to manage expectations and ensure alignment.
•Collaborate with computational designers to adjust upper patterns and tooling construction, manage full size run grading, create manufacturing operation manuals, conduct initial production trials, update ERP systems, and sign off on scalability.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•8+ years of progressive experience in the footwear industry, with a significant focus on innovation and bringing new technologies to market.
•Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Material Science, or another relevant technical field.
•2D and 3D, computational design and algorithmic capabilities are a plus.
•Proven ability to not only lead the scaling of new technologies but also to assess their commercial viability and factory readiness.
•Expert-level knowledge of advanced footwear manufacturing processes, including robotics, automation, tooling, molding, injecting, welding, lasting, and assembly.
