Key Responsibilities

  • •Apply scientific and engineering knowledge in separations processes to enable environmentally beneficial, cost-competitive biobased solutions for nutrition, health, and beauty challenges.
  • •Design, execute, and analyze downstream processes at bench scale.
  • •Optimize downstream processes for production scale using knowledge of scale down, scale up, and tech transfer.
  • •Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Strain Improvement, Fermentation, Analytical, Manufacturing, and Quality) to resolve complex bioprocess challenges.
  • •Visualize and present data and conclusions to help move solutions from lab to implementation, including planning and execution of complex research projects with reviews and reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of hands-on industry experience (MS/PhD considered partially in lieu of experience).
  • •Proven track record in process and product innovation with hands-on experience with lab and/or pilot-scale bioprocessing recovery equipment.
  • •Strong understanding of unit operations, M&E balances, and separation technologies, including experience developing DSP trains and interconnected modeling approaches.
  • •Experience applying statistics and DOE in development of experimental work plans (Six Sigma certification is a plus).
  • •Demonstrated ownership, accountability, prioritization, and organizational skills, with a collaborative mindset in cross-functional teams.
