Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform detailed technical review and sign-off for Canadian corporate income tax returns (T2s), GIFI alignment, and foreign affiliate reporting forms (T1134, T106) prepared by an outsourced provider.
  • •Manage SR&ED tax incentive claims end-to-end, coordinating with internal engineering/R&D stakeholders and reviewing SR&ED technical and financial schedules before submission.
  • •Partner with Accounting to obtain baseline financial packages, and independently extract data and run sub-ledger/general ledger reports in enterprise corporate ERP tools to resolve documentation gaps.
  • •Act as primary liaison to the outsourced tax service provider by delivering compiled data packages, interpreting Salesforce financial systems data, investigating variances, and resolving provider queries.
  • •Oversee audit defense by managing CRA and provincial tax authority responses and coordinating with the outsourced provider to draft technical defense memos and extract needed system documentation.

Salary: CAD 92,600 - 127,300 annually

Key Requirements

  • •CPA designation (or equivalent) is highly preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • •4 to 7+ years of progressive corporate taxation experience, including tax return review and/or public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
  • •Strong systems fluency to independently navigate financial systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday, Hyperion, Essbase) and pull trial balances/GL details.
  • •Deep working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act, transfer pricing concepts, and provincial allocation rules to spot errors in vendor outputs.
  • •Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manipulate dense financial reports and build baseline tax workpapers.
