Job Summary

Coordinate electric distribution outage and switching operations by creating and approving switching/tagging orders, resolving scheduling conflicts, and leading switching meetings. Serve as a lead for the Energy Control Center to maintain safe, up-to-date system integrity through accurate records, maps, logs, and OMS data. Monitor operators and field personnel during normal and emergency conditions, evaluate disturbance data, and ensure 24/7 storm coverage.

Key Responsibilities

•Create accurate switching and tagging orders, resolve construction scheduling conflicts, organize and lead switching meetings, and develop and maintain the switching template.
•Write switching and tagging orders for electric distribution equipment per operating procedures and safety rules, and gain approval of switching orders.
•Act as a lead for the Energy Control Center by maintaining awareness of distribution system status, ensuring system integrity, and keeping records, maps, logs, OMS data, and procedures accurate and current.
•Monitor operators and direct field personnel during normal and emergency conditions; evaluate transmission and distribution disturbance data to determine corrective actions and direct switching and tagging operations.
•Communicate operational and disturbance events and equipment problems to system and maintenance engineers and other personnel; provide 24/7 coverage as required for storms and emergencies.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 61.03 - 70.13 hourly

Key Requirements

•AS degree in Electrical Engineering (or related technology) plus 6 years of electrical transmission and/or distribution experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
•Experience preparing or executing switching orders is preferred.
•Ability to write switching and tagging orders for electric distribution equipment in accordance with operating capabilities and safety rules.
•Ability to act as a lead for the Energy Control Center and maintain knowledge of the distribution system status for safety.
•Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date Energy Control Center records, maps, logs, OMS data, and operating instructions and procedures.
