Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the gold layer and build January’s semantic layer as the single source of truth across tools and future AI/LLM interfaces.
  • •Define and enforce data contracts and standardized metrics, including resolving cross-team disagreements about metric definitions.
  • •Partner with Data Engineering on the client reporting revamp by clarifying metric definitions, success criteria, and building gold-layer models for new reporting needs.
  • •Advocate to expand the data January captures by identifying and closing data-capture gaps that limit what models can do.
  • •Manage costs for dbt and Snowflake compute powering the gold layer and analytics tooling like Sigma.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related role.
  • •Deep expertise with a modern cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake.
  • •Advanced SQL skills for modeling data with both flexibility and trust.
  • •Experience designing, building, or governing a semantic layer (e.g., dbt Semantic Layer, Cube, LookML).
  • •Proven ability to define metrics and data contracts that multiple teams actually adopt.
