Job Summary

Build and operate high-availability services powering Etsy Search on a Kubernetes-based platform. You’ll partner across platform, ML, and SRE teams to evolve cloud infrastructure and CI/CD, deliver developer-facing tooling, and improve reliability through automation and monitoring. This role includes on-call responsibility for business-critical systems and focuses on reducing toil, avoiding technical debt, and measurably improving developer experience at massive marketplace scale.

Key Responsibilities

•Own high-impact platform systems used across search, including Kubernetes-based runtime environments, CI/CD, and deployment platforms.
•Partner cross-functionally with platform engineers, ML teams, and product partners to define standards and evolve cloud platforms for high availability search.
•Build developer-facing platforms and tooling such as self-service deploys, observability, Bazel workflows, and search-specific CI/CD.
•Operate business-critical systems with on-call responsibility while continuously improving reliability, operability, and developer experience.
•Evolve the search platform by identifying friction areas and automating away toil to reduce support load and technical debt.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: EUR 95,000 - 112,000 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years of software engineering experience, with the last 2 years in systems/infrastructure engineering, SRE, or DevOps (preferably in a cloud environment).
•Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and configuration management (Chef/Ansible).
•Strong debugging skills on Linux-based operating systems.
•Solid cloud experience with Google Cloud or AWS.
•Experience with Kubernetes and observability (e.g., Grafana), plus willingness to improve and operate business-critical systems via on-call.
