Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify expansion opportunities by partnering with brokers on new business development, producer planning, and target account strategies.
  • •Contribute to territory business planning by tracking production, visibility, and marketing trends and activities.
  • •Support negotiation and execution of indemnity, collateral, and other risk-mitigation arrangements on larger/more complex accounts.
  • •Provide consultative underwriting guidance and training to newer underwriters, including financial analysis and contract/bond review.
  • •Analyze portfolio and account performance, monitor risk selection/renewal/pricing, and coordinate remediation and close-out strategies for stressed accounts.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience in large commercial surety underwriting, including both new business and portfolio management of complex/high-exposure accounts.
  • •Demonstrated success in territory development and broker distribution management, including producer planning and target account strategies.
  • •Advanced ability to analyze complex financial statements (profitability, leverage, cash flow, working capital, liquidity, backlog/WIP trends).
  • •Experience evaluating credit quality and capacity of companies, including concentration risk and emerging deterioration.
  • •Actively pursuing AFSB or CPCU (or other insurance/finance related certification) and/or CPA designation preferred/transferable.
