Job Summary

Install and troubleshoot audiovisual systems for AVI-SPL contracted projects, including cabling, terminations, rack fabrication, and wiring layouts. Lead and direct installation crews on larger jobs, mentor junior technicians, and coordinate progress and documentation with the Project Manager. Read schematics/blueprints, support engineers and programmers with minor changes, perform testing and client training, and travel to customer sites as needed while following safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform installation tasks for AV projects, including cable pulls, terminations, system equipment/components, and rack fabrication and wiring layouts.
•Lead and direct installation crews on larger, more complex projects and coordinate progress with the Project Manager to meet time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction requirements.
•Demonstrate job site leadership, mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, and verify quality of work.
•Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints; use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors; test point-to-point cabling and system functionality.
•Support engineers/programmers with minor programming changes, manage tools/equipment on-site, coordinate trades, perform client training, and complete required job documentation.

Key Requirements

•4–6 years of audiovisual, electronics, or related industry installation experience.
•Advanced experience installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber optic) with conduit runs and cable trays.
•Advanced understanding of AV systems (projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, video conferencing, digital signage, and control systems).
•Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints, and use hand/power tools safely.
•Valid and current AVIXA CTS General Certification and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR; high school diploma or equivalent required.
