Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end design and architecture across the FCM core, from market data and order routing through settlement, reporting, and risk.
  • •Drive next-gen replatforming to reduce legacy vendor dependencies while increasing stability and reliability.
  • •Set the technical bar through code, design reviews, and standards; pay down the most impactful technical debt.
  • •Partner across execution, risk, and lifecycle pods with Product, CFM Risk and Ops, Finance, and Compliance to deliver correct, auditable systems and convert strategy into a roadmap.
  • •Mentor engineers and scale engineering quality as a force multiplier while helping others grow.

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive backend engineering experience delivering complex, production-grade distributed systems with demonstrated ownership.
  • •Hands-on experience in FCM or derivatives, covering one or more parts of the futures trade lifecycle (e.g., settlement, clearing, margin/risk, order routing, market data, or back-office books and records).
  • •Deep proficiency in a modern backend language (Go preferred; Java or similar) and event-driven, high-availability architectures.
  • •Experience in a regulated financial environment (CFTC/NFA or comparable) emphasizing correctness, auditability, and reliability.
  • •Track record taking initiatives end-to-end from scoping/architecture through implementation, monitoring/iteration, including replatforming or migration off legacy systems while coding.
