Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide expert advice and guidance throughout planning, design, and delivery for civil design and construction of airport pavement programs while ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and technical requirements.
  • •Oversee civil design and construction activities by reviewing designs, submittals, and testing procedures for alignment with project specifications.
  • •Conduct Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) compliance reviews for proposed renovations, alterations, maintenance work, and new construction projects.
  • •Evaluate contractor alternative technical proposals for feasibility and alignment with project requirements and provide recommendations.
  • •Coordinate civil and structural engineering components and monitor design-related inputs during construction, including RFIs, shop drawings, material and mock-up approvals, and punch lists.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in Civil Engineering with 4 years of experience in civil/site development, construction, or airport engineering applying engineering principles in airfield pavement structural design.
  • •Over 7 years of experience in civil/site development, construction, and airport engineering with a strong focus on airfield pavement structural design.
  • •Solid understanding of traffic, geotechnical, and municipal engineering practices.
  • •Proven experience applying Canadian aerodrome standards (TP312 4th and 5th editions) and international standards such as ICAO and FAA to support design reviews and problem-solving.
  • •In-depth knowledge of CSA design codes and standards, including civil construction materials and methods.
