Job Summary

Shape electrical power systems for mining, metals, and heavy industrial projects across Canada. In a senior subject matter expert role, you’ll design power distribution and control systems, run power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash) using ETAP or EasyPower, and prepare specifications for switchgear, MCCs, and transformers. You’ll ensure safety, compliance, and risk analysis throughout concept-to-completion work while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

•Design electrical power distribution and control systems for safe, reliable industrial operations.
•Conduct power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash) using ETAP or EasyPower.
•Deliver electrical systems design across power distribution, motor control, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection.
•Prepare specifications and data sheets for switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and associated equipment.
•Oversee engineering calculations and verify design accuracy through field reviews and site evaluations; mentor junior staff.

Key Requirements

•12+ years of electrical engineering design experience supporting heavy industrial facilities.
•Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario; additional jurisdictions considered an asset.
•Strong understanding of CSA, ANSI, IEEE, building codes, and other relevant standards.
•Proficiency in power system modelling tools; familiarity with instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
•Experience working in industrial environments such as mines, mills, refineries, ports, or material-handling facilities.
