Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform on-shift procedural audits of personnel and equipment and identify SOP gaps with operations management to strengthen procedures.
  • •Act as an on-shift leader to support plant-wide safety initiatives and coach casting personnel on SOPs.
  • •Use process audit results and extensive process data systems to monitor/improve cast shop processes, track SPC trends, and reduce variability.
  • •Expedite disposition of non-conforming material (including required system movements) and disposition key equipment removed from active service.
  • •Conduct quality critical testing (PreFil and LiMCA) and troubleshoot EMC and direct chill (DC) casting issues, leading cross-functional investigations to resolve complex problems.

Key Requirements

  • •4-year technical related degree from an accredited University required.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • •Engineering degree with 3–5 years’ experience in a plant technical role, or a technical degree with 7 years’ experience in a heavy industry role.
  • •Must be able to write technical reports and communicate complex information in layman’s terms.
  • •Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong problem solving, judgment, and critical thinking skills.
