Key Responsibilities

  • •Analyze and optimize the performance of the core ClickHouse database, including topics like query optimization, distributed query optimization, relational operators (e.g., aggregation and joins), caching, and low-level optimizations like SIMD instructions.
  • •Extend existing and add new performance tests based on real-world or synthetic datasets to prevent performance degradation over time.
  • •Serve as a resource for the Support Engineering team by debugging advanced performance issues encountered by customers.
  • •Collaborate with other core teams to assess the impact of new features on performance and support with performance tests and guidance.
  • •Work with the open-source community: resolve issues, review and finish PRs, and respond to questions across mail, chats, groups, and Slack channels.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong professional C++ development experience on Unix systems.
