Job Summary

Lead Orb’s engineering organization (~30 people) building infrastructure where correctness and scale are core to the product. Drive engineering management and senior IC growth, set technical strategy through deep system conversations, and establish lightweight, high-leverage processes for the next phase of growth. Partner with GTM and Product to shape product, competitive, and monetization strategy, including usage-based billing and revenue infrastructure as part of the Adyen platform.

Key Responsibilities

•Coach and grow engineering managers and senior ICs through hands-on mentorship and clear growth paths.
•Build the engineering leadership bench and own talent and retention strategy as the team expands across offices.
•Set and communicate technical strategy, raising the bar for correctness and scale in system design.
•Partner cross-functionally with GTM and the VP of Product to shape product, competitive, and monetization strategy.
•Establish technical and process foundations for scalable growth with lightweight, high-leverage execution.

Key Requirements

•10+ years in engineering with several years leading engineering organizations, ideally in infrastructure, platform, or developer-tools companies.
•Infra- or platform-heavy background with real depth in distributed systems, data, and designing for correctness and scale.
•Experience scaling teams and systems through meaningful growth, with comfort shifting into scrappy, early-stage modes.
•Deep interest in billing and monetization, including usage-based pricing and revenue infrastructure.
•Proven people leadership with experience coaching managers, developing senior ICs, and building durable leadership benches.
