Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement a next-generation data platform supporting batch and real-time integrations, advanced analytics, and multiple data types using Kafka and streaming technologies.
  • •Architect solutions across Vercel by aligning engineering strategy with product goals and ensuring data availability and usability.
  • •Define and maintain data ingestion, creation, enrichment, and storage guidelines; oversee data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing for low-latency analytics.
  • •Build end-to-end solutions across the tech stack, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers as the team grows.
  • •Partner with Security, Compliance, and Legal on data protection standards and drive high availability via monitoring, alerting, and incident response.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years in data engineering/data architecture with at least 5 years at the Principal Engineer level.
  • •Experience designing and operating large-scale data infrastructures, including Kafka and its ecosystem (Kafka Streams, Confluent Platform), ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake.
  • •Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and related big data services.
  • •Strong data governance and security background, including compliance and protecting sensitive information.
  • •A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
